Chrome OS is popular in schools. Given schools’ unique needs, that makes sense. But schools aren’t the only organizations that can benefit from some of Chrome OS’s features. Chrome OS could make a good deal of sense if an organization has lots of employees with similar needs, runs mostly based on web applications, and is not in the market for premium hardware.

Teachers, experienced with education applications, often bypass their districts’ IT departments when implementing them. If data is stored offsite, this has privacy implications. IT departments can get out in front, however. Stop the SaaS by educating teachers about the risks and meeting their educational needs.

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) is the third stimulus package passed by the federal government since March 2020. The stimulus funding announced seeks to address gaps created by the COVID-19 pandemic. ARP comprises $1.9 trillion in mandatory funding, programming, and tax policies and provides significant relief to Americans adversely affected by the pandemic. Education IT professionals must be aware of the variety of funding opportunities to ensure the consistent delivery of quality education.
