The System Database Administrator is to be responsible for the support aspects of database management.

Some of these responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Database installation, patching, and performance tuning
  • Operational activities (back-up & restore)
  • Ensure database security

The "logical" elements of database management are not included in the responsibilities of the System Database Administrator.
